AUBURN, Ind. -- Representatives from Auburn Essential Services (AES) recently spoke to fifth graders at James R. Watson Elementary and McKenney-Harrison Elementary.

The topic of discussion "What is the Internet?"

"When the computer science teachers reached out, asking if we were interested in doing a presentation we jumped," said Susan Geyer, AES general manager. "We were thrilled with the opportunity to spend time with the kids and show them how our city's fiber internet works."

Geyer said the AES staff did an amazing job of putting together an interactive slide show that kept the students engaged, presenting familiar topics.

Part of the presentation included the use of fiber wands for illustration purposes.

"We were so impressed with what each group knew, as they interacted with answers to our questions," Geyer said. "What a privilege it was for us to be a part of their education for a moment, these kids are our future."

Thank you to James R. Watson Elementary & McKenney-Harrison Elementary for inviting AES into your classrooms!
