AUBURN, Ind. – The City of Auburn was recently recognized by World Atlas (worldatlas.com) as one of the 13 Cutest Small Towns in the Northern United States.
The city along with the other 12 communities recognized were highlighted for its historic main streets, picturesque landscapes, architectural wonders, and other natural features.
Auburn joined several east coast communities and other northern communities including, Stowe, Vermont; Sitka, Alaska; Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio among others.
The piece highlights the city’s vast trail system which includes the Rieke Park Trail and the Auburn/Waterloo Trail which leads into the park and all of its amenities. It also highlights the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival and the historic Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. The museum’s art deco showroom is listed as a National Historic Landmark.
Also highlighted is The National Auto and Truck Museum and the Early Ford V-8 Museum along with Auburn historic downtown and its shops and eateries.
“Auburn, Indiana, “Home of the Classics,” welcomes visitors to marvel at the history of cars while enjoying the surrounding scenery,” the piece says.
Other communities highlighted included, Lititz, Pennsylvania; Rockport, Massachusetts; Cottonwood Falls, Kansas; Ogunquit, Maine; Red Wing, Minnesota; Mystic, Connecticut; Valentine, Nebraska; Galena, Illinois and Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
