AUBURN, Ind. – Mayor Mike Ley recently put his construction skills to work in an effort to save the Auburn Water Department money on a construction project at its office.
During his four-year tenure Mayor Ley has made it known to department heads that he is always willing to pitch-in and help when it comes to city projects. From helping to paint the north water tower to basic construction projects Mayor Ley has spent countless hours improving the city.
He is constantly looking for new opportunities to provide for city departments while saving the city money.
On Friday, November 17, Mayor Ley and Auburn Water Department Superintendent Randy Harvey finished a construction project at the Auburn Water Department office, 800 North Street.
Water Superintendent Randy Harvey said the construction of the new window was something that had been put aside for other projects over the years.
Mayor Ley’s construction background saved the City an estimated $4,000 on the project.
